Adam Lambert Thank You Video for Donors Choose

In just four weeks, 1,956 fans responded to Adam Lambert’s call to action to give to classroom projects on DonorsChoose.org. Fan Groups created GivingPages within the Lambert Leaderboard; www.donorschoose.org/AdamLambert to compete for the most philanthropic group and individual givers. With prizes ranging from autographs to exclusive online chats with Adam, the fans rallied and gave over 5,400 donations to arts and music projects on DonorsChoose.org. Winners: Fan group ONTD_AI raised the most funds with an amazing $82,000 (special thanks to fan group leader Julia)!

Looks like we officially came in 3rd!
$223,000 raised overall. Thank you everyone! They sent an email. ONTD AI is the official winner. The AO Glamberts came in second and then us. You guys helped raise $14, 400, which is amazing! They were going to do a big press thing but now it looks like that will be Monday.
The top individual givers will be contacted tomorrow via email. They will post amounts given; but will ask before posting someone’s identity.

It’s an article about the DonorsChoose thing! It’s here! I also want to say ONTD AI and some of the other groups contributed to this too so I want to make sure Honey and others get credit for their hard work too! This is just a short snippet:
When budget cuts this past spring threatened music programs throughout the Kent School District, music teacher Carol Brewster decided to do something about it.
To ensure that no matter what happened with the programs, low-income students at Kent Elementary and Scenic Hills Elementary would still have the chance to play music at school, Brewster decided to write an essay for DonorsChoose.org, an online charity that seeks to connect people with students in need.
Brewster said in an e-mail that she wrote a proposal for $12,000 in musical instruments, which totaled $14,772 after taxes, fees and shipping.
The request went live on March 30 and by Aug. 18 had received $2,000 in donations.
That’s when American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert got involved and the whole game changed.
On Aug. 20, Brewster said there was a “firestorm of activity” on the site and people were “donating on behalf of someone named Adam Lambert.”
After doing some research, she discovered the rising star had asked fans to support school music programs instead of sending him gifts and one if his fan clubs (the “Glittizens”) selected Brewster’s proposal.
Not only that, a contest began among Lambert fan clubs to see who could raise the most money.
In just eight days, Lambert’s fans had donated more than $12,000, fully funding the request. More than 200 people nationwide and one from Finland contributed.
As of this past week, Brewster said DonorsChoose is waiting to collect all of the funds, at which time they will buy the instruments, which will then be shipped to Kent Elementary.
Whew…all packed up!
i just packed up everyone’s auction items. I’ll ship them all out tomorrow!
Also, I FINALLY packed up the Legalize Gay shirts for the people who requested them (first 5 to donate who wanted them), but I only had four people on the list!

Dona is so lucky! She’s going to get a big package with both the Cassidy painting and the glove! I’m happy she won, although I’ll miss the glove terribly! Way to go everyone who has donated, bought shirts/things, or bought auction items. Every little bit helps! Thanks you guys!
Note: I won’t be officially announcing what place we came in. They’ve told us we can’t say anything until the official announcement on Thursday (I think), so after today you won’t hear me talking about it until they say we can. Hopefully, we’ll stay in 3rd!

Paypal is still holding 98 bucks for some of the auctions so I went ahead and donated in that amount to DonorsChoose. I was able to close out a project, which is always fun!

Glittermat is catching us again
They’re $600 away. It’s the last day of the auction so last call for donations! There will probably be press about the auction stuff so it would be nice if we could be in the Top 3.

Glittermat is Catching Us!
The Glittermat Laundry is only $600 away from us right now. We should have a few hundred coming in from the auctions today and with the glove, but yikes! I’d hate to lose 3rd place after we’ve held on for so long! Tomorrow is the last day to donate! So, even if it’s only $1, go for it! I’ll be sad if we end up in 4th after all this time in 3rd! All donations must be in by midnight tomorrow.
Also, please leave feedback on ebay if you’ve received your item so they’ll release the darn money!
