I can’t stand Joel Osteen. My sister has a million of his books and loves the dude. I think he’s a big, fat hypocrite. He admits that he didn’t choose to be straight, yet thinks homosexuality is something that can be changed if you “love people back into wholeness” whatever that means. So, basically, the cure for two dudes (or gals) loving each other is to love them (in a completely non-gay manner) and make them straight.
“You think you choose to be straight?” asked Socarides.
“I know I have not chosen to be straight. It just feels like that’s who I am,” responded Osteen. Then, apparently realizing that his reply opened up a pathway to believing sexual orientation is innate, Osteen backtracked and said he tries to “stick to issues I understand.“
