One of you totally called this! Earlier, one of my commenters was worrying that the more visible Gryles was going to backfire and cause a backlash on Grimmy. Well, that didn’t take long. The whole point of this article seems to be to paint Grimmy as a bad influence on Harry. From the Daily Mail:

As a man losing listeners at a rapid rate, you wouldn’t think Nick Grimshaw had much to celebrate.

Actually, his listeners in the younger age bracket were up 250,000, but the station did lose listeners after the switch from Chris Moyles to Grimmy.

And having been blasted by parents as a ‘poor role model’ after a series of lewd remarks on Twitter, the Radio 1 DJ might want to consider keeping his head down.

Instead he managed to upset even more people at the weekend – notably One Direction fans – by organising a lap dance for the band’s Harry Styles at a boozy party.

Grimshaw was pictured laughing hysterically during the ten-minute £100 striptease.

The DJ, often seen partying with celebrity friends just hours before his early morning radio show, was criticised by concerned parents last year for using ‘foul language’ on his Twitter account.

Yet, these same parents haven’t noticed the foul language in use by Louis Underscore Tomlinson? LOL.

A source at the restaurant said: ‘Nick seemed pretty pleased with himself when the stripper started her routine. He found it hilarious. Harry seemed embarrassed and didn’t know where to look, but he took it in good spirit.’But despite hopes that he would attract younger fans, the latest figures show he has pulled the lowest audience for almost seven years.

Again, while overall numbers were down, he brought 250,000 younger listeners to the station.

It was the second night out in a row for Grimshaw and Styles, who partied with actor James Corden until 4am the previous day at Soho’s Groucho Club.

Yesterday, One Direction fans were quick to blame Grimshaw for the stripper episode, with one tweeting he was a ‘bad influence’.

On his Twitter account last week, the DJ posted a photograph of a woman’s cleavage and asked his 900,000 followers to guess ‘whose boobs’ they were. He then listed the names of four celebrity friends, including Pixie Geldof.

Grimshaw attracted 6.69million listeners in his first three months in the breakfast slot – 40,000 down on the last ratings of his predecessor Moyles.

I mean, 40,000 down isn’t too shabby for a brand new show, is it?
