And here is the fierce fucking amazing Gabourey Sidibe gushing about her nom on GMA this morning:
Man, she and I would be such good friends LOLOLOL
Are there any movies you guys are excited about?

I want Colin Firth to win for A Single Man – this is an amazingly moving film! Its slow moving & artistic and set in the 60’s which I guess might bore some people. But just some of the emotions he gets across with only a change of his facial esxpressions impressed me – and there is a beautiful gay naked skinny-dipping in the ocean scene. It’s the story of a gay college prof. who’s partner died. There is such pain and grief in this story but its worth watching. The moment where his female friend asks him if he ever wished he had a ‘real relationship’ – just the way Colin Firth can show you his hurt and reaction to those words with his face – he should win best actor for this.
I havent seen Avatar yet but im sure ill love it.
seacrest mentioned that anna kendricks was planning on taking HH as her date to the oscars-known him since she was 18. maybe that’s what the 3pc. navy suit/tux is for. and this is the first time in a while that i haven’t seen most of the nominated films-well i saw The Hangover-so i’m feeling a little ambivalent. love colin firth so i’ll go on your recommend edenangel and heard good things about tom ford as director of it.
I’m so out of touch these days! Used to be I’d have seen 90% of the nominated films. This year I think I’ve seen one, so GO Inglorious Basterds!!!
I was so excited to see District 9 nominated. It’s the only good thing to come out of that ridiculous decision to have 10 nominees. Gabby gave one of the best debut performances I have ever seen. She also totally reminds me of my friends. It would be nice if she shocked everyone and won.
The Oscars are like my Super Bowl. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen a bunch of former film students gather for an Oscar party, but it’s intense.
Loha, that would be soooooooooo awesome to see HH at the Oscars having fun and as arm candy for Anna! I hope that is still true!
Does anyone know how they met? All I heard HH say was that they are old friends.
I LOVE the Academy Awards! I love award shows! And I love Alec and Steve as the hosts! I can’t wait, especially if HH is there!!!!!!!
Of course, I can’t wait for the GC Fashion Wrap Up too! That was super fun!
Inglorious Bastards was one of the better movies I have seen this year. I love Colin Firth in everything he has ever been in. I think he is one of the better actors of our time and really underrated. I am looking forward to seeing A Single Man since the hype about the film has been excellent. I think Sandra Bullock deserves an Oscar for her work over her long career and all the causes she has given her millions to. I realize the Oscars have nothing to do with that but I like to see people who have given so much to their craft be rewarded sometimes. The cast in Inglorious Bastards was amazing. It was made up of stars I barely recognized but they turned in performances that were all oscar-worthy. I loved Avatar. It was one of those special movies that comes along once in a decade and should get lots of awards but I still favor Inglorious Bastards.
For a great comedy, you can’t beat Its Complicated. I laughed so hard, I cried.
I just saw Inglorious Bastards – I have mixed feelings about it. If someone from it was nominated you would think it would be the Shoshanna actress – even Brad Pitt didnt have as much to do & he was mostly comical in it. The Nazi guy that got nominating I didnt find him very interesting really in the film. Mostly this film confused me by having such a hot Ewan McGreggor-like guy play the Nazi/movie star that I was routing for him – which I’m guessing was not how I was suposed to feel? lol his hotness was too distracting for me
i am kind of sad about movies this year. did i miss all the good ones or did they all suck???
so – AVATAR- i want to kill myself if one more person will tell me that this movie is changing the movie industry. yes, i saw it and yes it is entertaining but it is as cliche as you can get. it’s the smurfs cartoons meeting the plot from pocahontas. please !!!! but i get that if you make enough money people will give you awards too.
UP IN THE AIR – seriously???? i don’t even know what to say about how wrong this movie was. cloneey’s story in the movie is so,so,so bad and clooney is still hot but still can’t act. but to make the movie worse next to the awful self discovery story from clooney they push this story about unemployment and that is just cheap. to try to push a real issue in a crappy movie just to make it look like it has some depth is just cheap.
AN EDUCATION – good actors, weak plot. it’s nice to watch due to the actors but the story is so obvious and has nothing new to say about anything and it’s not even heartfelt enough to make you excuse the lack of any originality.
THE BLIND SIDE – i like the characters and i liked the acting. but all the story seems so made up even if they say it’s from a true story and i guess it’s because it’s poorly executed. i don’t mean to sound insulting but to me this movie is just so american.
INGLORIOUS BASTARDS – well, it’s tarantino. as long as you know going in that it’s not going to make any sense at all you can enjoy it. it’s not like it changed my life or anything but it sure made me feel good for the duration of the movie. the story is so crazy that it just gets to you, or at least me :P and cristoph waltz aka col hans landa is brilliantly brilliant !!!
i have not seen the rest of the films nominated but i am hoping that some of them will turn out to be good because so far this year is not looking good to me.
