Someone thinks he’s sexy
called me earlier to tell me that Rod Stewart was defending Adam on The View this morning. Aha provided a round-up of that convo in the
from someone at Hooplamagnet:
Rod Stewart is on The View. Elisabeth asks him what he thought of Adam’s performance. Says he didn’t see it.
Joy: “Do you want us to tell you what it was?”
Rod: “Yeah, it’s American Idol, right? He’s got black hair. He’s good, he’s good, yeah.”
Joy: “He was on American Idol, then he was on the American Music Awards and he did a dance and a song and he had a guy’s head in his crotch; that was something they did not like and then…he was kissing a guy. Anyway, they thought that that was off the charts.”
Rod: “Nah, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s rock’n'roll!”
(applause)
Whoopi: “That’s what I’ve been saying.”
Rod: “Alice Cooper used to have snakes and bite chickens’ heads off.”
Whoopi: “So this is nothing.”
Rod: “There you go.”
And of course Patti has this to say:

And now with video (thanks Kaceelyn!)

Remember back in the late 70’s or maybe even 1980′ish when the big rumor was that Rod had been with Mick Jagger — something about swallowing. LOL
I love Rod. Always have — always will! :D
I love how Whoopi has been supporting HH thoughout this whole thing! Joy too! And Barbara too! Of course they talked about it during her 10 Most Fascinating People interview, because it right after the AMA’s and her tweet said it was “Newsy!”
And to mention, out of all the people in the world, Barbara picked HH to be one of the TOP 10 MOST FASCINATING!!!!!
That is HUGE!!!! I hope there are clips of him singing on Ellen/Letterman/Early Show!
Of course, Elizabeth has to say something like “Interesting! from a performer’s point of view!
I hope when HH visits the View, that she turns into a puddle of mush because of his voice and beautifulness. that would be hilarious!
I’ve seen Rod Stewart twice in concert back in the ol’ days. He’s quite the showman!!…I love him…
…..saw The View today….I’ve been noticing that when quests come on the show now, they hardly acknowledge Hasselbeck…move quickly past her and say their Hi’s to the other hosts. Hasselbeck sees nothing beyong her own little world of conservatism and interupts people in their responses so she can be assured of getting the last say:….but she never has anything of value to say !!..Whoopi, and Barbara are big Adam supporters. Let’s see what the View panel has to comment on when Barb’s special airs….I’m sure Adam will come out on “top” !!
OIC THAT ELIZABETH HASSELBITCH IS ON HER WARPATH AGENDA AGAIN.SRSLY THERE WAS NO NEED TO BRING ADAM UP LMAO. IT’S LIKE IT WAS EATING AWAY AT HER AND SHE…HAD.TO.BRING.IT.UP…..
Actually the rumor was Mick and David Bowie but many of these guys (and the Beatles, Elton John and many others) have known each other for years, even before they were famous, so there’s no telling what all has gone on! I’m glad he stood up for Adam – I would expect nothing else from Rod – he and Elton John are very good friends and their nicknames for each other are Sharon and Phyllis. :)
I wish Hasselcrack would get pregnant and go on maternity leave again – and decide to stay home with her kids for good!
Did they actually think a man who has like 10 kids to 6 different women (slight exaggeration) would somehow be shocked and disapprove?! lol! It would be hypocritical of him to all of a sudden acquire a moral code. Good for him for standing up or rock and roll, really the stories he could tell would make HH’s AMA performance pale in comparison
You are all so right. Loved Rod Stewart in the day. Favorite song was Tonites the Nite. Anyone else remember that one?
Years ago – way before Matthew Shephard, Rod Stewart did a song called “The Killing of Georgie” which was a song about homosexuality and gay-bashing about the killing of a young gay man. Rod has never been shy about supporting the gay community and it caused many to spread rumors about his own sexuality – not that he cared. My mom was fairly liberal about social issues but it was rock stars like Mick, Rod, John Lennon, David Bowie, Lou Reed etc. that really opened my mind about social issues, including gay issues – even though they are not all gay themselves – it was about acceptance and not caring what others thought when I was a kid. I love Rod the Mod, as he used to be called. :)
Rod really is a super trouper. My version of
insists that Rod at Main Road, Manchester ,England,1994 was the best ever concert
= win.
he supports
I noticed how Sherry and Eliabitch moved on real quick when Rod said there was nothing wrong with Adam’s performance. I’m so glad Woopie, Joy and Barbara are supporting Adam.
