I actually didn’t have super high expectations because I had had several friends who sing just as well as Kris try out and not even make it through the first round.
I never worry about him becoming too caught up in anything.
As far as what I don’t like, well I hope the next album can have even more of the ‘Kris Allen’ sound on there. If you listen to “Brand New Shoes” you will know what I mean.
I don’t do the media. I don’t read blogs, I don’t get on fansites, I don’t read gossip magazines, and I don’t look at charts. It’s a conscious decision I made right after he won. I spent so much time during the show doing all these things, and it was so draining.
I remember one time I picked out an outfit for a top 36 photo shoot, and he wouldn’t wear it and said I was trying to change him.
We are both huge fans of kids. It’s just not a good idea now. Kris travels too much and I have the acting thing going on.

JC, how dare you use actual quotes? Katy’s obviously pointing out all of these negative things about her husband as show of support. Brand New Shoes was obviously a superior album. Who cares that Kris was able to work with establish producers & songwriters to create a viable pop album for his major label debut? Brand New Shoes was the pedestal Kris built for Katy. It’s obviously a better representation of who he is as a musician.

Maybe I’m just fricking bummed by all the negativity I’ve been seeing everywhere lately, and Gossip Candy is one of the places I go that usually isn’t like that. That’s why I love this place, there’s not all the wank that exists other places in this fandom

She and I have the same last name. And very similar first name (IRL). It’s disorienting coming here and being like whoa.
Best is without a doubt “Aint No Sunshine” during the finale. He did so good the first time and even better the second.

…..gotta put in a quick comment here….Much as I’d love to see the “Pockets” succeed in their marriage…..in my honest opinion, I don’t think it will. You all are much younger than me, and maybe are having really great expectations for this marriage, (…..or NOT !!..)…but I’m looking at the statistics and the realistic outlooks of this marriage:….Kris says he’s been with GF for the past 7 years…how old is he???…maybe 24…25????
Kris has had the world opened up to him since winning American Idol and has moved to LA and is traveling constantly and you can’t tell me that there hasn’t been constant temptations of infedility thrown at his feet. …and I think, also, with Katy.
Considering the world where they came from…(somewhat isolated Arkansas)…they have a great challenge in front of them in keeping that marriage intact considering that both of them came into that union with hardly any sexual experience and now are thrown into the Los Angeles world of “temptations” thrown at their feet.!!!!…It would take the STRONGEST of marriages to resist that and survive!!….These two have a whole lot of discovering to do…..and that may indeed conclude in growing in directions that may not be on the same path as the other one!!

Your posts are all chanting for “KRADAM” forever….but you need to backtrack one step to the “Pocket” marriage…I’m trying to be realistic and have empathy for them but I don’t have indications that this is a union that will survive….I’m having a little sadness moment

I don’t see any negative thing in the interview, you can twist it the way you want. You cannot pick a sentence from a whole paragraph of an amswer and make it look like it stands on it’s own. Why don’t you quote the whole answer. Whatever, but like it or not, they are married and love each other and your stupid Kradam obsession will not change it. Kris gave all of you the perfect description in his logo interview. If this is what fans do then he doesn’t need you. They will put all of you to shame. GOD forgive you people.

I liked the interview. I thought Katy presented herself well and gave insightful and thoughtful answers.
I don’t think their marriage will last though and that has nothing to do with HH or Kradam or anything other than them being young and spending far too much time apart.
There’s a reason why wives and girlfriends/boyfriends of “rock stars” should not be seen or heard from. She needs to learn it’s his career, not hers, and to stay out of his way. Just pisses the fans off.
Katy. ACT like you support Kris. That can be your first role.

I liked the interview, I didn’t see anything wrong with it. I think Katy has an adorable personality that is similar to Kris’s. I have no comment in regards to how long the marriage will last, but I hope it will last a long time…unless they aren’t happy that is. All that matters is how happy they are. Kradam is just a far-fetched fantasy.

Have to join in…..I agree with what Mur said. The Pocket’s relationship has gone through so many changes in a short time it is bound to be stressed. HP is defending it in interviews, so all are aware at how the marriage is perceived by fans.
There is no doubt that the power in the relationship has shifted, and Katy says in this interview that she likes control. I think she’s lost control due to Kris living away from her, gaining confidence due to his AI win and song writing collaborations, and his management team and record label calling the shots. This can’t be easy for her.
However, at one point I thought the marriage would be over fairly quickly, but it may last longer than we think since it’s very possible that HP and GF are retrenching and may try to make it work. After all, they have about 1/3 of their lives invested in this relationship.
I also agree with Glitterati who said “There’s a reason why wives and girlfriends/boyfriends of “rock stars” should not be seen or heard from. She needs to learn it’s his career, not hers, and to stay out of his way. Just pisses the fans off.”
Let me add that America voted for Kris Allen, not Mr. and Mrs. Kris Allen. Operation GF is so forced onto us that it’s likely to backfire.
Overall, what cannot be denied is this relationship simply has to be going through challenges due to the many changes Kris Allen is experiencing.
