And finally, there are many silver linings here for Kris. He has songwriting credit on nine of his album’s tracks (eight co-writes plus one song penned solely by him), compared to Adam’s four writing credits. And songwriting royalties are really where the real cash is at for musicians, so Kris stands to make as much money as Adam, or at least quite a nice chunk of change. Additionally, Kris is doing better at radio right now–his “Live Like We’re Dying” single has finally cracked the top 20, while Adam’s singles have bizarrely not received as much airplay so far–so Kris stands to earn more performance royalties in that regard. And lastly, it seems that more money has been spent on Adam’s album promotional campaign, and if that is the case then it will take Kris less time for his record to recoup and turn a profit.

Not all Adam fans/ Glamberts are like that. It this mean reputation that Glamberts have been given when there are a lot of hard-core Kris fans who get nasty too and use foul, homophobic language all the time on twitter, FB, and now more so with all the negative articles after the AMAs. But unfortunately its the Adam fans who are made to look like jack asses (and there are some) all the time.
I think Lyndsay opened an unnecessary can of worms.
Beth, although you are definitely correct that there are Kris fans out there that are negative and nasty, for the most part they don’t tend to flash-mob writers the same way Adam’s fans do. I’m a huge Adam fan myself, but often I’m embarrassed by how OTT his fans can be in his defense – even when he doesn’t need it. IMHO those particularly rabid fans do more harm to his image than good.

I agree Kat……the nasty Adam fans do more harm by going bonkers and its embarassing when it’s anti-Kris.
She deserves to be bashes. Just because right now Adamis under controversy, she makes sure she turn completely towards Kris: she does not want any trouble. If Adam’s album sold so much because GOOD REASONS and despite the bru lala, Lyndsay does not care.

jada – wuuut? I actually thought it was a fair attempt at explaining the reasoning behind the numbers and the music environment these days…as well as past idols. I mean seriously – look at how high ruben’s numbers are yet we don’t hear jack about him today!
it’s sad that she has to put little disclaimers for the rabid people…i think Laura Saltzman just did the same thing because people freaked on her for using the word apology.

I know your’e not one of the crazy Glamberts and whenever an anti-Adam or anti-Kris thing came out, I too have cringed at the crap that comes out from the looney tunes on BOTH sides…….but like the man said…..its not that deep…..

that blog was total bullshit, sorry. I love Kris as much as the next kradam shipper but her dismissive comments about why Adam sold better just piss me off. Why does she feel the need to “explain away” Adam’s steller sales? He’s likely to sell over 200K copies this week and as she points out, it’s crap economy.

Adding on, why didn’t she use the same examples of Alicia and 50 selling less than usual to say how amazing it is that Adam is selling like he is? Why was it used to say “see Kris isn’t doing that bad”?
It’s funny how the tides turn because Ms. Parker had no real use for Kris when Adam was the golden boy and now that he’s marred in a little bad press she jumps ship and basically shoves him under the bus. it’s just disappointing. not because I expect her to kiss his ass or love everything he does but because it reeks of hypocrisy since she didn’t even think Kris should’ve won Idol.
Also, those who claim that the Kris fans don’t get nasty, I think Ms. parker herself would disagree with that. I seem to recall a fairly nasty and vicious attack on her when she blogged about kris’ win. Also lest we forget the twitter attack by the Kris-stans on one Alisan Porter when she tweeted that Kris was boring in concert. Make no mistake, kris fans are JUST AS nasty as the Adam fans… they just usually have no reason to be nasty because no one attacks Kris the way Adam gets attacked.

I’m more of an Adam fan, but I like Kris too. I hate the Adam vs. Kris stuff. Soo, imma sit this one out…after I make my 1 comment about the Adam fans, hehe – No one comes at any of the other idols like they come at Adam (during and aftr AI). I think the Glamberts are on offense/defense mode 24/7 because people are always attacking Adam like it’s a sport. *End of rant* But, yeah…sometimes it’s not necessary. I don’t think Lyndsey meant Adam any harm.

I will remember for Larry King interview before the Idol tour,Kris said something like:the most memorable fact of this experience is to get along amazingly with people who are so different from you.Fans at both side should remember Kris’s sentiment.I’m more of an Adam fan,but I learned to love and respect Kris ,therefore listened his music too.He is amazing ,talented,and very different feel.I would hate to see their connection fade ,because of the nutjobs.I hope there is enough Kradam fan out there to support our boys.The stated facts by Lindsay can change week by week……….

i agree that there are some crazy Kris stans, but I don’t agree that they attack people to the same degree. And Adam getting ‘attacked’ more than Kris? Oh, really? Have people read the reviews and articles about Kris? If the same things were said about Adam, Glamberts would be on a witch hunt.
I appreciate Parker’s effort in trying to bring perspective to this, but her article is flawed. It can be picked apart so easily, it’s like why even bother? The numbers are what they are, and people will say what they want.
I just want people to stop comparing the two regardless of who they favor.
I’m just glad the boys themselves are not letting this media-driven competition ruin their friendship (hopefully).

Actually, Ruben has been racking up several Top 20 UAC hits and was recently part of a 10-city tour with David Foster. He works consistently, but you have to be a true fan to know that.
And that is what will happen for both Kris and Adam. Both will settle into their grooves and develop true fanbases. First-week sales will ultimately be a small part of the equation for either guy.
Adam is more of a showman, so it’s understandable that he get out to an early lead sales-wise. I suspect Kris will be a slow-burner type of artist, almost like Kings of Leon. With LLWD getting strong radio play, Kris is just a couple of more singles away from surprising a lot of people with his sales.
There’s more than one way to be successful for all Idol alums, but so many don’t seem to understand or appreciate that. Not being critical of anyone here, I’m just saying is all.
I doubt any Idol would trade their current life position for what they had before we knew them. They’re all pursuing a career they love and that is what matters the most.
Lol, why are you making so much excuses about Kris’ numbers? He sold what he sold and that’s it. No reason to be sad or to make lame excuses.
