GLAAD Urges Community to Contact ABC Over Cancellation
of Adam Lambert’s Performances
“We appreciate ABC’s commitment to gay and transgender inclusion in other programming,” said Jarrett Barrios, President of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. “However, let us be clear that GLAAD remains steadfast in our assertion that Adam Lambert is being subjected to a double standard by ABC as an openly gay performer. We do not support ABC cancelling Adam Lambert’s past and future performances. We urge the community to reach out to ABC and express their concerns that Adam Lambert is being subjected to a double standard.”

I had a hell of a time with their automated system. Eventually it forced me to choose a show, so I left my complaint with Kimmel in the hopes that the rumor that he fought for Adam is true–if it is, the messages are more likely to be passed on to someone in charge.
Might be faster just to call his show directly, for anyone who hasn’t made a complaint yet.
I did emails. I’m phonaphobic. lol
So apparently PEE WEE HERMAN (public masturbater) will be on Kimmel on December 8th!

Just left a message. It was shaky and really pretty lame, because I hate calling strangers. But I think I sort of made my point.

I sent email, giving them 1 tally against ABC, asking what the number was up to now in comparison to the 1,500 prudes that sounded off? Adding insult on top of insult.
We would really like to use a united front from Adam’s fans to contact ABC and their sponsors. ABC is afraid of losing money and I believe they have not seen anything yet. Adam’s fans are the purchasing and voting public. We are very powerful in numbers and mean a lot to a network’s ratings and sponsorship. How does everyone feel about this.
Does anyone have an email already sent? If you do and would like to share the content on this post, please do. Later on today, I may just do it………….but so many obscenities come to mind, I could write Eminem’s next track.
Then,Lambert wont be the only one banned on ABC. I’d be banned and arrested! And I dont even have a millionth of his fans to come support this unknown, ie moi!!! LOL!
Backtrack much GLAAD, I thought you were cool with ABC blackballing Adam?? Another bunch of douchebags throwing Adam under the bus then having to take it back when real normal people with good sense and ethics are outraged (sound familiar OUT???) I’ll follow up with emails and such, for Adam, but this is another self serving bunch of hypocrits, well the only good thing about this whole episode is he sees who he can count on, its few people than he though I would guess

I’ve sent emails to ABC, FCC, Dick Clark Productions, and the Kimmel show. I am all for supporting Adam, but there are bigger issues hers. Suppression of freedom of speech, artistic freedom, suppression of any images of gays that don’t fit in with mainstream filters, and promotion of homophobia.
Please make sure your emails are mature, articulate, and without profanity, no matter how angry you are. I know, I’ve been spitting mad for days. We have to raise our voices, but as ones to be listened to and respected.
By the way, a million thanks to Candy for keeping us informed, up to the minute. I just check here twice a day to see what’s happening. It’s a great help to find email contacts here instead of searching for them.
Keep up your spirits everyone, Adam will prevail and have a great career.

I was told when I was involved in political campaigns that one snail mail letter is worth 50 emails (because they take more effort). I’d like to encourage people to take the time and the stamp to send an actual letter also. Here is Anne Sweeney’s address:

I confused. Someone tell me what’s going on. Didn’t this guy, just like yesterday, say he supported ABC’s right to cancel/blacklist Adam? Also, I am really peeved at the Liberty Counsel for getting involved in this. NO ONE AT Liberty College was watching the AMA’s. They are using our Adam for publicity, pure and simple.
And how come no one cares that he also simulated oral sex with that woman…on the stairs?
Janet, A very concise, respectful and informative letter that you wrote. I agree about the need to be respectful, no matter how we really feel, since that will make the other [erson more likely to read your letter and give it some creedence.
There is a good article about GLADD on Queerty.com where they really tear into them for their initial siding with ABC. They are a little late to the party!!!!

duhhhhhhhhhhh. let’s see, i have a site that’s devoted to him among others, i’ve painted a picture of him that i gave him at the afterparty. i made a groupcard that got signed by almost 2000 fans….you tell me.
I sent an email to all three ABC execs, with a blind copy to the GLAAD guy. Let’s not be too hard on GLAAD. I think their words were twisted by ABC…so it’s no wonder they had to come forward and clarify.
