Adam Talks Music
Adam discussing the greatest albums/songs of the decade (sheesh, it’s almost 2010 people!!) He talks up the usual suspects for him (Goldfrapp, Pink) but also talks Wolfmother and Winehouse.
I’ll throw this out to you guys…what do you think was the best album/song of the 00’s? And don’t knee-jerk answer Kradam unless you really mean it LOL….As for me, I think the album that sticks out most in my mind this decade is Green Day’s “American Idiot”….I used and abused that album back in the day and it holds up well. I have too many songs I love to pick a favorite, but some personal ones for me are Robbie Williams’ “Road to Mandalay”, Rilo Kiley’s “Better Sons/Daughters”, old skool Kings of Leon’s “Holy Roller Novocaine” and Regina Spektor’s “Apres Moi”
P.S. I’ve heard WWFM like 20 times on Z100 today (including right now while I type this) so it sounds like Adam is doing great!

Ok – i will bite. I love Evanescence’s Fallen album. And my favorite song is ‘Bring me to Life’.
Regina Spektor’s Begin to Hope album and the song Apres Moi would be at the top of my list as well JC.
Babyshambles 2007 release “Lost Art of Murder” is an excellent (is somewhat oddball)song fave of mine.
The Kills, Last Day of Magic (song).
Albums: Radiohead, Jayhawks, Amy Winehouse, Rufus Wainwright…
And in lighter fare…Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals song Steal My Kisses gets in my head and stays there for days on end…in a good way.
I could go on and on – a lot of what seems like the ‘best of’ at any given time has a lot to do with the emotional weather of the moment.
Whoops – forgot to agree that Pick U Up might just be the best song everrrrrr!
Ooohh ooh ooh – Scissors Sisters, Music Is The Victim. (Ok, ok, done now, but I like this game)
(BEST LYRICS OF THE DECADE) Belle & Sebastian: The State I Am In.
Done now. Seriously. Done.
Laura if you didn’t have a strange affinity for the Gibbler, I would have to say that I love you.
Your music taste is excellent darling….
(just gonna keep spamming my new fave Dean gif until I find another one I love as much LOL)
I can’t help my love for the Gibbler! It has a lot to do with my early days in the club scene in Detroit a long, long time ago. Someday we’ll call a truce and I’ll buy you a beer or whatev and you can try to justify your love for you-know-who and I will justify my soft spot for the Gibbler.
first we fight, then we grope? Y/Y?
YES.
Yay Adam – he named one of my favorite songs – “Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera. :) I’m terrible at making lists but I like a lot of what Adam mentioned and Green Day, Kings of Leon, Tinted Windows, White Stripes (or any Jack White stuff), Locksley, Butch Walker and a bunch of stuff I’m leaving out.
I don’t know about best overall album of this decade so far, but some of my more mellow faves are:
- Serena Ryder “If Your Memory Serves You Well” (I just about choked when the GF tweeted that she had recently discovered her)
- Mika “Life in Cartoon Motion”
- James Blunt “Back to Bedlam”
- Rufus Wainwright “Poses”
Hmmm one song that stands out to me is Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
oh and the White Stripes album “Get Behind Me Satan” — and the song on it “My Doorbell.” Love that.

There’s also SIA, IMAX, The Gossip, Ramstein (because you need to kick ass every now and then), fantastic album from Grace Jones, Santigold, the Thing Things, MGMT…. the list goes on
And JC, if I’m not mistaken Irina lives in Europe some 1500 km away from me so I get the first dibs this time around!
i guess i missed this response. oh well. it’s a little crazy that only recently i listened to SIA for the first time and like her a lot. thing things – yes, indeed. grace jones, i didn’t listen to her for a long time, i think it’s time i do again.
ramstein never got into it. especially the last song of them i keep listening to the radio is just plain silly.
i don’t know IMAX.i also never listened to santigold. i will check it out.
so only 1500 km log???
