I have a source who confirmed it with 19M.
Apparently Seacrest just confirmed the cancellation as well.

Realizing details are being planned as this is happening….hoping those with travel plans don’t get shafted. That a venue will be found large enough to accommodate the fans that do show up.

I just complained to GMA, too. I guess ABC wanted to publicly slap his hand. Good luck with that, ABC. CBS wisely grabbed him. It’ll be great since he’s on Letterman tomorrow night. He’ll be awesome and sweet and ABC will look as stupid as they are, LOL.

I just sent a complain to GMA as well. Everyone should! Its total crap and I am very angry. Hopefully Adam will let it roll right off – he has such a positive attitude.

But did ABC give an official statement yet. I just want to reserve judgment until I know the actual reason for the cancellation before going all “glambert” about it.

@cestlavie But what reason could there possibly be other than to publicly slap his hand for the AMA performance? I mean, if they were worried about crowd control, they could have moved him in-studio or something. No. They’re scared. But I’m not “going glambert” about it. I just think that they’re lame and unfortunately for them a lot of other people are gonna go glambert. Yikes.

An ABC News spokesperson tells TVNewser, “given his controversial live performance on the AMAs we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning.”

@Cinn Of course it’s ridiculous. But Adam’s gonna be fine. He got snapped right up by CBS (they’re smart) and this will only make people rally behind him. (And the people who agree with ABC were never gonna be fans anyway.) (Also: hi!)

I’m still reeling. ABC can’t possibly actually believe he would do the same performance on GMA that he did at the AMAs. They just can’t be that stupid, but the press release implies that. Ya think they would ask what he’s singing, DUH FREAKIN DUH. Gah they blew it.
