hh proves his point yet again.
this is so stupid. honestly, he shouldn’t even be having to talk about this. but i love him for defending himself so sexily.
I love how much he revealed about his sexuality, and how it was pretty much on the mark with what we’ve thought all along; he’s not who we see on stage in his personal life. He’s up there having fun, putting on a show. People need to CHILL OUT.
I really hope they get him back for a cover interview because I will scoop up as many copies as I can (they’re based in Toronto, for those who don’t know).
Mop me off the floor. Can this guy ever express himself. I wish I could talk off the cuff so intelligently. I can’t wait until we get the first gay president (ha).
Its true, Adam shouldn’t have to talk about this crap or explain his actions, but everytime he does, I see light bulbs going off in young people’s brains all over the country. I don’t want him ever to stop talking and explaining. He doesn’t realize how much it means to the young people just beginning to understand themselves. He doesn’t want that job but he has it, and I am glad he does.
good interview. i haven’t seen a celebrity, a young one who speaks like this for so long. the last celebrity i know, a young one who speaks like this, is angelina jolie.
Gah, I love listening to him speak. I would vote for him if he ever decided to run for…anything. He doesn’t need a PR team, he does just fine on his own. I mean, really, I can’t see anyone else being able to stand up to all this pressure and defend themselves like this without a buffer or prewritten statements and such. I’m so glad that he’s not going to apologize. He apologized for the bad notes and that’s it, lol. I’m so proud of him. He’s one smart cookie.
For some reason that fact that his sex life is very vanilla is sexy to me. He wants a romantic connection…that sounds sweet and intense.
Adam lays out his vision in this interview. It is one of inclusion. He wrestled a bit with the interviewer to get him to understand that his values are aligned with the 60’s: peace, love, harmony and self expression. He will be a (happens to be gay) transformational figure. Here we go.

ABC’S CENSORSHIP OF ADAM LAMBERT’S PERFORMANCE AT THE AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS (AMA) ILLUSTRATES A DISCRIMINATORY DOUBLE STANDARD APPLIED TO GAY MEN.
ABC SAYS IT GOT ONLY 1,500 COMPLAINTS FROM A TOTAL OF 14 MILLION AMA VIEWERS BUT THE STORY IN THE MAINSTREAM PRESS IS HUGE AND LAMBERT IS NOT BEING TREATED FAIRLY. LET’S SUPPORT FREEDOM OF ARTISTIC AND SEXUAL EXPRESSION BY SENDING A CLEAR MESSAGE: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
Adam Lambert is among the first openly gay US recording artists to earn such a huge profile at the very outset of his career. His recent AMA performance featured some crotch nuzzling and a man-on-man kiss.
ABC censored the kiss during the broadcast by quickly cutting away to a wide shot and subsequently edited the crotch nuzzling completely out of the east coast broadcast. Lambert’s appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America, scheduled for the following morning, was cancelled.
Countless music videos and performances by female pop stars and scores of straight hip-hoppers and rockers don’t seem to faze ABC or the viewing public. And freedom of artistic and sexual expression is good and healthy.
I’d like to send a message to ABC and to Lambert’s critics. Let’s flood ABC’s website with notes of protest for censoring Lambert.
Let’s show the mainstream press and ABC what audiences really think of those who censor gay imagery. Let’s pressure the mainstream media to cover this as a story about censorship rather than one about Lambert’s choices.

Censoring Adam Lambert’s performance at the AMA was condescending to audiences and to Lambert. Treating gay sexuality differently from straight sexuality is simply homophobic and you should be ashamed of yourselves.
You have many more than 1,500 gay viewers who are inspired by Lambert and his work. Yet you cave to a tiny minority of bellyachers who can’t possibly have been injured by Lambert’s performance.
Will you issue a public apology to Lambert and to your gay viewers? It’s the least you could do.
Love this interview! It was very personal and Matt asked a lot of very good questions. You could tell that he was a big HH fan (but not fangirly) and really did his homework.
My favorite parts were when HH talked about being very romantic in relationships and would like domesticality and a long term relationship.
How he is not even close to being attracted to or into leather and S&M, and uses the leather only as props or fashion. He’s sexually a romantic “vanilla”.
HH really wants to be in love and have that connection with someone and be romantic and is more like a 60’s hippie with flower power and astrology.
They agreed that being bi-curious is more probable because of their increasing sexual confidence as they got older.
Also, interesting that Tommy invited HH to grab him in the music video if he wanted to… and Tommy laughed about the kiss after the performance. And they all agreed that some females think that some man/man kissing is hot because HH said Tommy got a whole bunch of tweets saying how hot the kiss was! So it was sorta a chick magnet thing for Tommy!
It’s so cute to hear HH call Neil as his little brother. It makes Neil seem like he’s 12 years old! I wonder if they had one of their epic swearing fights this Thanksgiving!!?? I would’ve loved being a fly on that wall! They probably laughed about the Ninja roll! Didn’t Neil coin that phrase in his tweet?
Lastly, I am so agreeing with HH that I would like this AMA thing to blow over too. I don’t think I could take more controversy!! It’s taking focus away from people talking about his music!
Thanks, chunkey, for posting and Heather for the heads up on where this mag was located. No wonder I’ve never heard of it. It’s in Canada!
That was my thinking exactly…the kiss was HOT. That was my first reaction- damn!
Adam has done so much for my sexual development as a person. I studied abroad, I witnessed some crazy stuff, I’m used to being around gay guys going through a crazy phase. But the androgyny thing is so fascinating.I’m finding myself attracted to PEOPLE, not bound by gender or whatever. It’s a wonderful and freeing feeling. I’m tempted to write him some fanmail, except he wouldn’t get it.
Wow, this is a great interview. Very thought provoking especially the generational comments. I honestly *get it* now. I’m more intrigued with this man then ever before. He so knows who he is as an entertainer — man, I what will the future bring with his desire to keep pushing his creativity. On a side note, if ABC were actually newsworthy they wouldn’t be ignoring this story — people ARE talking about it.

This is a 27 minute interview but worth every minute!!! Everyone needs to listen to this. He is so literate and well spoken.
Vanilla!
