Melissa’s Summary of the CBS Thing

Melissa went to the CBS thing today. Here’s an interesting tidbit:
I thanked many staff members of CBS for pulling the whole thing together in such short time. When I asked Ray why they just didn’t keep it at the Hudson Theatre, he said it was about “money”. GMA was paying for the theatre, and obviously CBS doesn’t have that kind of cash. Overall, it worked out OK. Toes were numb, but that’s a small price to pay for our man.
She’s looking out for our Tommy lovers!
I was at The Early Show today and asked Ray if the band was coming out to greet fans. He said no, and I was very disappointed. It was thrilling to see Adam again in person, but deep down I was desperate to meet Tommy! This boy is hot! We hung around waiting for Adam to come back out again. Instead, my little Tommy boy appeared!! No one noticed him, so when he walked by I grabbed him and said I thought he was so hot. He put his arm around me and posed for a photo, and I said I was looking forward to seeing him rock the stage with Adam. He was sweet, and so fucking adorable! I kept snapping while fans then rushed him.

SCONED BY MEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here I was typing my fingers to nubs commenting and tweeting and posting my face on the
so you damn Glittizens would come say hi and bond over the insanity of getting up at the asscrack of dawn to get a glimpse of HH and what do I get?
!!!!!!!SCORN!!!!!
Ok, so, yeah there were like eleventy-million people there, you couldn’t see my Glittizen shirt under my coat, and clearly Mel had a much better view than I did. But shit I was hanging around 4-eva after the show and maybe if I could have bonded with Mel I woulda gotten some Tommy action too!

Awesome recap, Melissa! Thank you so much. Great pic of Tommy too. Sorry you got scorned, Ginger! Did you post a recap too? I’ll go look for it. I’m so behind on my forum reading. ack.
I hope Adam can stand up to all this scrutiny. If he is strong enough to listen to the repulsive jabber of the right, he will change minds. He is so articulate, and has such great common sense, I think eventually he will be instrumental in changing minds and hopefully society at large.
Adam wouldn’t say anything about Elizabeth Hasselback, but as a mother of two sons and a daughter, she should remember that gay men and women are another woman’s child. Adam was brought up by an exceptional woman who understood what her responsibility to her child was. Adam has great awareness of what it means to have self knowledge of who and what he is about. This is instrumental in living a life feeling good about yourself. I am sure his mother and father had a hand in producing this wonderful person we are all getting to know. All mothers should be leary of expressing idiotic notions of homosexuality because no one knows the sexual orientation of their children. As mothers, we have the responsibility to make sure our children are strong and healthy both mentally and physically no matter what their sexual orientation. We must love and support our children however they turn out. And as mothers, we know that children are our responsibility no matter who births them. No one should want to deliberately hurt another woman’s child.
I like Elizabeth and Sherrie, but they both need to take another look at their responsibilities as mothers as well as human beings. There is definitely a different standard for gay men and there should not be.
There were things I didn’t like about Adam’s performance, and I gave everyone my opinion. However, I would never take away his right to express himself any way he wants. I don’t have to like everything he does. He has to like what he does and he needs to have the same rights of expression as females. He didn’t set out to prove a point, but it is obvious that he did.
Great comment Irish, it was a pleasure to read.
Aw, sorry Ginger! Would have loved to hang! I seriously was going to make a Tommy sign. But I wasn’t sure how that would go over. (Don’t want to make HH jealous!) Or even if we’d see him.
If anyone wants to thank CBS, the person to write to is Kathy Black. I know they blurred the Adommy kiss this morning, but kept in Madonna/Brit kiss. That sucks. But still, they did pull off a pretty good event overnight. They could have ran with their tail between their legs and said no. So I applaud them for trying.
I’ve been up for 37 hours. Think I’m beyond the point of exhausted.
Irish, very nicely stated. I usually never agree with either one of those two women so this comes as no surprise.
THANKS FOR THE TOMMY PIC!
Mel – I’m right behind you on the 37 hours thing. I’ve barely slept since the AMA’s – even coming back to the east coast on the plane – too keyed up to sleep. So much to keep up with. I’m (almost) hoping there’s minimal brouhaha tomorrow so I can recover.
Irish, that was a wonderful statement…I agree with you word for word. I wonder how Elizabeth & Sherry would respond to your comment.
I.
DO.
NOT.
UNDERSTAND.
You know you want it JC, you’re not fooling anyone:
LOL Heather I had nothing worth recapping! I showed up, stuff happened. It was cold I left. Y’all at home had a much better view than I, but damn being within a couple feet of this only for a second is pretty fucking worth it:
Irish agree with everything you said, but I believe Sherry and Hasselhoff are very closed minded people. As a proud mom of a gay son, I can tell you that my son didn’t come out to me until he was 29, and all I could say to him was why did he wait so long to tell me, didn’t he know me better. His reply was it wasn’t you Mom it was me. He couldn’t accept who he was because of society, and how he was made to feel that being gay was wrong, bad, evil. He is 35 now has a wonderful boyfriend who I adore, and I thank God every day for answering my prayer that my son would find such a wonderful person to love. I couldn’t be happier.
IreneRose, Beautiful sentiments. Thank you for sharing this .
