all things consider being in #2 for a new Idol artist this is extremely impressive. So I’m more than happy. I DON’T know what SuBo’s appeal is. I mean her story is sweet in a Cinderella way but does it have a lasting appeal? Will people care, especially considering she hasn’t produced any of her own ORIGINAL music yet, ten years from now. Not that I know for sure Adam will, but I certainly have more hope he’ll last much longer.

I feel that she is much more suited for a quiet type of fame. I don’t think she could last long when the younger generation moves on up in the world and the older generation…well. There’s a HUGE generation gap right now I feel. One that I don’t think will help SuBo last long. Again one of the big problems is that all her songs are covers. Nothing original. She can be respected, but who will know her? She can sell millions, but who will talk about her? Can she handle herself in an interview? Will she be revelant on talkshows? Will people WANT to have her perform at BIG award shows? I can’t see her on the VMA/MVV’s movie awards, or late night talk shows. She appears very reclusive. Adam however has that appeal to be, well, INTERESTING. He’s had more interesting things happen to him this past week than most artists do in an entire career.

So, no I haven’t a clue why SuBo is doing better. But in the long run, I see Adam winning. *crosses fingers*

NO clue what is up with Susan Boyle. Obviously I voted NFC in the poll, but I was about to go with the “advocate for thumbsuckers” thing before I did.
It’s because she’s not all that attractive and has a seemingly decent voice. Vocally, she is actually nothing special, but because her looks are so dramatically different from her voice, she is a legend.
That, of course, makes no sense. I mean, when someone young and pretty and talented like Adam takes the stage and is far more exciting and controversial, he still may get less sales than the thumbsucking housedress-wearing SuBo (no offense, dude) due to her lack of physical appeal. :p

I’m certain someone (not me) will buy this for my mother in law for Christmas, but then she’s big on the Sons of the Pioneers.

I wish the best for SuBo, but doubt if she makes it through to the end of her tour, or 2011, before falling completely apart. She had the strange spinster/cat lady/recluse existence before this all happened. Can’t see how she’ll be able to hold it together.
