When they ask the question, it triggers the memory so he covers to hide that memory. Adam is measuring his words. This means he's trying to think of the "right" thing to say. When you immediately speak you are usually telling the truth because you have no time to make a lie. Playing with ring - he does it throughout the interview but it gets especially pronounced at that one point. Nervous, hmmmmmm? The not meeting eyes could mean they are embarrassed by the question or that they don't want any looks to betray LOL. Take all that with a grain of salt. Because I got my PhD in Body Language from Fox TV LOL.
