Kelly Clarkson Had to Kiss Simon’s Ass to Appear on Idol

When Kelly Clarkson wanted to appear on American Idol a few weeks ago to promote her new single, “My Life Would Suck Without You,” she had to apologize to AI judge Simon Cowell and other show executives for refusing to let contestants sing her songs during Season 5 and bascially dissing AI.
Kelly was the winner of the first season of AI, but afterwards seemed to distance herself from the show, with disastrous results, I might add. Unlike other contestants like Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtry, who legitimately seem thankful for the show, Kelly always seemed to have a chip on her shoulder and wanted to strike out on her own (nevermind that Idol is what made her famous). Even Simon said:
“No matter how talented Kelly Clarkson is, she would not be in the position she’s in now without winning this show. It’s a shame.”
So, Simon, not surprisingly held a grudge and made her apology a condition for her to appear on the show. Spot on, Simon!
